WaveBox Container System – Compact ultrasonic technology for biogas plants
WaveBox in a container (UST-WB-C)
WaveBox Container – Fully integrated plug-and-play ultrasonic system
The WaveBox system is based on a standardised technical concept and is fully integrated within a container. All components – ultrasonic generators, sonotrodes, pumps and control systems – are installed and tested at the factory. The result: rapid installation, minimal space requirements and immediate operational readiness for your biogas plant.
Flexible container sizes: 20″, 30″ and 40″ feet
The container system is available in various sizes (20″, 30″ and 40″) and can be configured to suit your requirements. Depending on the selected configuration, the container comprises several functional components that are integrated into a single, combined system. This results in a compact, modular and flexibly adaptable ultrasonic solution.
Modular concept for individual plant requirements
From small biogas plants to large-scale facilities – the WaveBox container concept scales with your requirements and can be expanded or fitted with additional ultrasonic modules at any time.
Area of application:
The rod transducer and the sonotrode are each excited by a transducer and transmit the sound into the medium via the end faces of the vibrating masses. This hard cavitation breaks down the biomass and intensifies the fermentation process. In the high-performance ultrasonic system from BTSüd GmbH, the biomass is treated with ultrasound in the 20 kHz frequency range. The hard steam cavitation induced by this process leads to the disintegration of biomass – and thus the breakdown of biomass cells – even with very short exposure times of just a few seconds.
Advantages
Wavebox in a container
Treating the substrate with ultrasound can, on the one hand, generate a higher gas yield by improving the degree of biological degradation, or reduce the amount of substrate required whilst maintaining the same gas yield; and, on the other hand, lower the viscosity in the fermenter, which results in lower power consumption by the agitators. It is only thanks to these positive effects that fermenters containing a substrate mix that is very fibrous and difficult to ferment can be operated stably in the first place.
