Vapogant 2-stage – Two-stage evaporation for maximum energy efficiency and ASL production

The Vapogant 2-stage is a highly efficient two-stage digestate evaporation plant designed for volume reduction and concentration of digestate from biogas plants. In two vacuum evaporators connected in series, the dilute substrate is gently thickened whilst its volume is reduced by up to 70 per cent.

ASL fertiliser production through ammonium recovery

From the resulting steam, a high-quality ammonium sulphate solution (ASL) is obtained in the integrated scrubber using sulphuric acid, producing a marketable, low-emission mineral fertiliser. The result: digestate is transformed into marketable fertiliser – economical nitrogen recovery instead of disposal.

Maximum energy efficiency through the cascade principle

By utilising the condensation energy from the first evaporator stage in the second stage, heat utilisation is increased by up to 50% compared with single-stage plants – ensuring maximum energy efficiency and low operating costs in your biogas plant.
