Vapogant single-stage – Efficient volume reduction and nutrient recovery from biogas digestate

The Vapogant single-stage is a single-stage digestate evaporation plant designed for the efficient volume reduction and concentration of digestate from biogas plants. The innovative evaporation process reduces the volume by up to 70 per cent – drastically cutting storage and transport costs.

Nutrient recovery: Ammonium sulphate fertiliser (ASL) from digestate

During the evaporation process, ammonium is extracted from the biogas digestate and, in an integrated scrubber, combined with sulphuric acid to form an ammonium sulphate solution (ASL) – a valuable, low-emission mineral fertiliser. The result: cost-effective nitrogen recovery instead of disposal costs.

High energy efficiency through CHP waste heat utilisation
